“The continued accolades that we routinely receive for both the atmosphere and functionality of our building is a testament to the quality of design. The significant improvements in student performance that we observed after moving into our building demonstrates that beauty and function can be achieved in educational buildings.”
Dr. Robert T. (Tom) Ladd
Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Technology
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville
The six story academic addition designed in the “Collegiate Gothic” vernacular houses multiple users and departments, collaborative learning areas, distance and executive education video conferencing classrooms, commons and food service, and a four story Atrium connecting the historically restored original “Glocker” building to the new addition. Only the front façade along with brick and limestone accents were salvaged for repurposing. A new portal building and outdoor plaza linking the adjacent SMC were added.
